About the event

FLAT PACK – A memorable one-woman show by Danielle Brame Whiting
Tuesday 21st April
Live Show 11am • Workshop 1–3pm
“Debbie has had to move Dad into care and it’s fallen on her to pack up his garage. But, like a flat pack without instructions, she’ll have to unpack all of the memories before she can put together anything new.”
Premiering at the Art House, Wyong in 2024, Flat Pack is a tender, funny and emotional journey exploring the relationship between a daughter and her Vietnam Veteran father. It’s Australian, authentic, and relevant to our times.
“A tender and dynamically delivered deconstruction of the joy, grief, and revelation that accompanies intergenerational transformation.” – Luke Carmen
“Funny, poignant and thought provoking. Flat Pack is a keepsake of childhood experience of a family affected by war. A must watch.” – Belinda Taylor
And a workshop – learn to tell YOUR story ...
Following the Dungog and Merriwa shows, Danielle is offering a two-hour workshop, “Writing Personal Stories for the Stage” from 1pm – 3pm, where participants can learn skills in taking their own stories and crafting them for a stage performance. This is not just for people who want to perform, it’s for anyone who’d like to explore how to tell some part of the story of their lives.
Tickets: 'FLAT PACK' at the James Theatre | Sticky Tickets
Show only: Student & Senior $15, Adult $20
Show plus Workshop: Student & Senior $25, Adult $30
Flat Pack is supported by Arts On Tour's Backroads program. It's also touring to Scone and Merriwa in the Upper Hunter region.
