It’s never too late to begin again. Calle Málaga is a vibrant, heartfelt, and quietly uplifting Spanish drama led by a radiant performance from Carmen Maura. Set in Tangier, it follows 79-year-old María Ángeles as her life is disrupted when her daughter arrives with plans to sell her home. What begins as a family conflict becomes a journey of resistance, reinvention, and rediscovery. Warm, life-affirming, and rich with humour and humanity, it is a celebration of independence, identity, and the joy of living life entirely on your own terms.
The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and won the Audience Award in the Venice Spotlight section.
